Why meet conserve better in the freezer than in the refrigerator?

Because the bacteria that cause food born illnesses and decomposition slow down when they hit 41 degrees, and they completly stop when they are frozen. Freezing them doesnt' kill the bacteria present, but it keeps it from functioning until it's heated up again. when you refrigerate the meat, the bacteria are slowed..but not stopped. :)
